For first time shooters/firearm owners, we offer NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Orientation and NRA FIRST Steps Rifle Orientation classes in Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training
For new and seasoned shooters, we offer engaging classes in NRA Basic Pistol Shooting and NRA Basic Rifle Shooting. We are dedicated to teaching the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe use of firearms in target shooting.
From properly handling a firearm and ammunition to safely and accurately shooting a firearm, our classes cover it all.
Class Descriptions
NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Orientation Class
NRA FIRST Steps Pistol is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type for classes of four or fewer students. This course is at least three hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development, including the use of our Strikeman Laser Guided target practice system. Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.
NRA FIRST Steps Rifle Orientation Class
NRA FIRST Steps Rifle is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific rifle action type for classes of four or fewer students. This course is at least three hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific rifle action type. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular rifle model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the rifle; and continued opportunities for skill development, including the use of our Strikeman Laser Guided target practice system. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.
NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Class
NRA Basic Pistol Shooting takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. This course may be completed in a single day format or over several days with smaller blocks of instruction. Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, shooting range safety and the use of our Strikeman Laser Guided target practice system. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.
NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Class
This course is at least 14 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development, including the use of our Strikeman Laser Guided target practice system. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.

Hands on Training
Before heading to the shooting range, you will practice handling and loading a firearm as well as using our Strikeman Laser Guided target practice system.
Target Practice
Put your training to the test! After the classroom and firearm handling sessions are complete, you will have a chance to put your newly acquired skills to the test with live ammunition Range Training. Get ready to have some fun!
